School of Science
Studies in physics, today more than ever, should not only aim at acquiring knowledge and comprehending deep concepts and principles, but also at highlighting their importance in a rapidly evolving science, where scientific specialization is constantly alternating with the genesis and evolution of new scientific fields.
The new curriculum of the Department of Physics, implemented from the academic year 2021-2022, is the result of reforming and overhauling of previous curricula. As required for an internationally renowned Physics Department, it aims in the thorough education of students, so that its graduates may excel in their multifaceted and rigorous scientific training in physics, a discipline that in modern times remains perhaps the most fundamental of sciences. This is so, not only because of its scientific weight and importance in the evolution of sciences and modern technology, but also because, precisely due to its approach to quantitative problem solving, it provides a strong background for other scientific pursuits and professional career fields.
